VectorWorks 2012/2011 export plugin
To install VW plugin copy files from zip to the \Plugins\ folder, start VW and add LIGHTCONVERSE item to the Export menu in Workspace editor.
- VW export plug-in saves project in .3dl format directly.
- LC supports project's structure: Layers (with names) and Groups.
- Objects are merged together by Groups, however, for optimization purposes LC can merge also Groups together if their volume too small.
- Objects that do not belong to any group will be merged as one object on a Layer in LC.
- Materials and Texture mapping works well.
- Textures are exported in project's same name folder.
- Fixtures are not automatically recognized in LC for now (but future versions will do), however they are present as geometry objects and you can change that manually in LC. The bidirectional with Excel may help you to automate that process also.
